of Truro. Our country property meanders along the beautiful Shubenacadie River.
Once a working farm owned by the Rose family in
historic Douglas Township (today's East Hants County), Ruff Country
today provides the ideal location for a kennel. Plenty of
fresh air to romp in and nature all around to watch, winding forest
paths and waterways for exercise & training ensure the 'old farm'
enjoys an extended life well into the modern age. Farm dogs
were some of the very earliest working partners of people as human
civilization evolved, and we think there's no better place than a
farm for healthy, happy canines.

- We've been providing quality care for our boarding clients for over 20 years. Our boarding facility is a small, family-run establishment with 17 boarding kennels. Each dog has his/her own kennel and all dogs are exercised four times per day, in a large fenced-in area.

Training - Hunting Dogs
are working dogs, and workers deserve the best training for
enjoyment and safety. Kennel co-owner Don Arsenault is
recognized as an above average trainer - you'll see the difference
in your dog!
We are open year round and our hours are 8:00am
to 12:00pm and 5:00am to 8:00pm daily including weekends.
